I propose something that people don’t talk about often: I believe we are in charge of saving one another.
SKYLER
Someone says they’re sad, we ask “why?” and we do our best to make it better.
CAROL
It’s a reflex.
SKYLER
We hear all the time that we need to take care of ourselves. We are in charge of saving one another.
CAROL
And not in some melodramatic way. We can save one another from boredom.
SKYLER
From over-working.
CAROL
From laziness.
SKYLER
Or procrastination.
CAROL
Or a life without play.
SKYLER
When I was a kid, I found a rubik’s cube in my grandfather’s backyard. I was mesmerized and I spent a lot of time learning different algorithms, buying other rubik’s cubes, figuring out how to solve it faster and faster and faster. And while I had a lot of fun solving these things on my own, I learned later, that solving them with others could be magical.
